When searching for the best vertical program, it can be extremely frustrating because every one of them claims to be the best.

Visit the websites of The Jump Manual, Vertical Mastery, the Vertical Bible, the Vertical Project, etc. and I guarantee you that they will say they are the best vertical program.

So, when you are ready to buy one of these programs, how are you possibly supposed to choose? In our research, we have found that there are generally 3 scams to watch out for:

1. Monthly coaching - does the program have monthly coaching? Most of best vertical programs do have monthly coaching, and some of them are legitimate. But the legitimate ones should only be $10-$20 per month. However, be aware of the ones that 1) are expensive (there are some that are over $150 per month) and 2) are not upfront about their monthly fees.

It's disgusting, but the fact is that some of the not so best vertical programs charge a monthly fee for coaching and only tell you this in very small print when you buy their product.

2. One size fits all - although not intentionally a scam, you still have to be aware of the "one size fits all" approach to these vertical jumping programs. Would it really make sense that the best vertical program would work the same for someone who is 5'6" vs. someone who is 6'3"?

Most of the vertical jumping programs are designed for mass distribution, so it only makes sense that they would take a one size fits all approach. While convenient for them, it is not an ideal situation for you.

Some of the best vertical programs are software based and they design training routines specifically to your skill level, ability, and body type. These custom programs are typically the same price, or cheaper, than the one size fits all programs. So, doesn't it make sense to spend your money on a program custom designed to you and your abilities vs a one size fits all approach?

3. False claims - the best vertical programs don't make false claims. How do you tell the difference between false claims and real ones? You can tell their false if they make claims like:

- achieve a vertical leap of 50 inches in 1 week (I'm exaggerating, but you get the point)

- you won't have to do squats or other leg building exercises - don't fall for this. It should be obvious that if you want to learn how to jump higher, then you are going to have to workout your legs.

- Eat anything you want - yes, I have actually seen this. Bottom line is this is false. You have to follow a good diet to get an awesome vertical leap.

Be wary when reading the seductive sales pages of merchants trying to make you believe they have the best vertical program. There are a lot of legitimate choices out there that will teach you how to jump higher to dunk, but you just have to make sure you don't get scammed.
